The "64" name refers to a real '64 Strat, whose arm length served as the model for this one. Slightly shorter than Fender's current production.
Callaham's arms are made of stainless steel, so there's no plating to worry about, and the arm will never corrode. Also, if you bend the arm to suit your playing style, you don't have to worry about plating flake off like you do with a plated arm. The virtual pop-in arms are designed to be used only with Callaham's enhanced vintage blocks; they are not suitable for use with blocks from other manufacturers, including Fender.
While Callaham's arm is unthreaded where it bears against the enhanced vintage block's Delrin bushing, it does have a few threads at the end. This allows you to push it in, then spin it once or twice to engage a couple of the threads. The threads are there simply to keep the user from inadvertently pulling the arm out during use. So the arm is "virtually" a pop-in design, but engaging a couple of threads is suggested.
