Many guitars will require a deep-thread nut when using a Switchcraft toggle switch. Depending on the guitar top's thickness (and especially if the guitar also has a plastic trim ring around the switch), the switch's threads may not be long enough to protrude from the face of the guitar, preventing the installation of a conventional nut (
see a picture), while the deep-thread nut extends down into the hole to engage the threads.
