22AWG stranded copper wire, with textile braid. This is the wire used by Fender. We get it from the same source, as do most of the companies in the industry. However, we order ours with a tinned overcoat, which means that after the individual strands of the conductor are twisted together, the conductor is given another tinned coat, locking the strands into a single unit. The benefit is that the wire holds its shape very well, making it a joy to work with.
Fender orders their wire with a tinned overcoat, but most other companies do not. Given the chance to work extensively with both, every person at Acme has a clear preference for the overcoated wire. Good stuff!
