When will you ship my order?

When will you ship my order?

We will fill most orders and ship them within 1-2 business days. We can often ship simple orders the same day they are received, depending on our workload and the time the order is received ("simple order" means there's no soldering involved).

Prewired assemblies will take a little longer, please refer to the Prewired section of our online store for our current lead times.

If you need something by a certain date, please call or email so that we can discuss it. If we see an order come in on a Thursday afternoon with overnight shipping, for instance, we will assume that the customer is trying to get it before the weekend and we'll make an effort to make it happen, but sometimes we cannot. So please call or email in advance if you have an urgent need.

Can I have my order shipped by FedEx or Priority Mail?

Yes, we offer Priority Mail (we don't offer FedEx).

I only ordered one item - your shipping is too expensive!

We typically get this complaint when someone has placed a very small order. They'll email something like "$5.00 for shipping?! The merchandise was only $1.50!".

Sorry, but we only offer UPS rates, and USPS Air rates, not First Class Mail. The cheapest option we offer will typically be USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. If this is too steep then you're out of luck. But consider this, we're losing money on any order below $20 or so because of the costs to process it. So our options are to implement a minimum order policy (which doesn't help you), or to take the order as a service to you, so you can get the parts you need. We can share the overhead.

How do you handle backorders?

Acme strives to maintain a 100% fill rate, but we'll occasionally be out of certain items. Typically, we'll ship the order with what we have and then ship the backordered item at no charge when it comes in. There are times when we'll deviate from this policy, however, in which case we'll call to discuss the options.
